Fun at the CB outlet

Do you live near a Crate and Barrel outlet? I hope you do. Some outlets are truly hit-or-miss, last season’s rejects, full of weird and/or damaged items. This is different.

Consistently stocked with reduced-price finds and current seasonal items, CB outlet is worth visiting every few months.

Last night part of my Cheesetique date was going to CB and buying things I totally didn’t need but obviously needed and a few gifts for people who read this blog which I therefore cannot show you (but they’re really pretty).

I find myself too constricted by the small-opening bowls for cereal and soups, and I really love to shove my face into the sweet-smelling steam that rises over my soups. Thus the Chili Bowl seems like my perfect winter companion for most delicious comfort-food recipes.

Deep and with plenty of room for my croutons and cheese.

Speaking of soups, it seems only appropriate for a French-onion soup lover such as myself to have at least two of these:

I am now set for all of my soup-serving ventures.

Serving my dear house guest coffee and tea over the weekend seemed like such a lovely adult thing to do, but it was diminished by the giant container of FF half-and-half on the counter and my cardboard box of Sweet n’ Lows. More adorable option for serving guests?

The mini glass creamer to fill for a weekend and set out as needed. I’m in love.

The rest of my goodies were Christmas gifts, but the moral of this story remains that you should check out those high-quality outlet stores when you can for unbeatable savings and terrific items. I had to resist buying about 40 more Christmas decorations and themed mugs, and will state here for the record that I will stop buying myself things other people might wish to gift me in less than two months (!!!!!).

I promise.
