Two awesome summer reading books
Maria Semple’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette? is one of the best books I’ve read all year. I listened to this book on tape and laughed out loud, wiped at tears, and even sat in the garage not wanting to get out of the car and therefore stop listening to the story. I thought of these characters for days when I wasn’t on a long car drive and started to plan circuitous routes to get to my errands in order to stay in the car and listen to the story longer.
Highly recommend as a summer read. Can’t put it down, hysterical, and adorably sentimental.
And on the opposite side of the spectrum we have The Likeness, by Tana French, a thriller mystery type crime novel that passes the time so swiftly and unexpectedly. I couldn’t put this one down, either.
What are you reading this summer? Anything good?
